Note also the Viewtech controller
I'm still not exactly sure what it does, and it doesn't seem to include the camera for the reverse mode. |

I bet the NAV mod would work on other Toyota Models with the same system. There's probably a wider market for it than we might think. |

Coastal Dave just opened the order page up for the Viewtech! I ordered mine and the Nav Enhancement. I think his demand is going to exceed supply today! And it will include an input to allow audio from my Ipod.. WOOHOO!!!   |

Ok, but I'm still confused...if the video stuff is on Sat 1-3 then where is XM? I also get the impression that audio volume cannot be controlled from the steering wheel for the aux audio input. (minor issue).
The I Agree/Nav Destination solution is extremely slick...I've ordered it even though I already have a Nav speed sensor defeat switch as this seems a much more useful option. |

I'm still not exactly sure what it does, and it doesn't seem to include the camera for the reverse mode.
As far as I can tell, it's just the interface to plug video/audio inputs into the MFD. Looks like it takes 2 video ports (probably composite video) and 2 stereo audio ports and patches them into the system display for video/sound.
If that's the case, it should be relatively simple to add pretty-much any type of backup camera for the display. Not sure if it's possible to use the original toyota backup camera, but should be able to mount a camera inside the back window and use that instead.
I just ordered one, so I suppose we'll find out :P

I suppose I'll wait for some others to give that a go. I'd prefer the OEM back-up camera due to it's pre-existing mounting point...if that won't work I'd want a similarly convenient solution. |

Wow, these are going to be 2 hot products. Dave needs to figure out a way to produce these in higher quantities, because I'm sure he won't be able to keep up with demand. |

Any body got a lead on a good camera for the backup function? And how about a low-light, night vision type for the front end? Let's go full-geek! |

Sat 1 is still XM (if you have it connected)
Sat 2 is a fullscreen video/audio input with no Prius graphic overlay
Sat 3 is a fullscreen video/audio input WITH the Prius graphics overtop. Can also be set to automatically be displayed if the car is in reverse (for a backup camera).
In Sat 2 mode, the radio tuning knob adjusts brightness and the Seek up/down adjusts colour.
In Sat 3 mode, the video input is turned on/off with the seek up/down (incase you just want to run your MP3 player into the stereo, etc).

Sat1 is still for XM, Sat2 is where the newly added features come into play. |

Ick, so I'd be down to only 6 presets! I find 18 limiting as it is.
I'm going to have to really think about how back I want a back-up camera and video input before getting this. |

When I got windows tinted yesterday at my friendly neighborhood stereo shop I happened to see a backup camera in a license plate frame. It looked pretty slick. |

Just placed my order for the NAV kit!
Especially love the "plug and play" installation... gotta keep it simple for me. Thanks, Dave. |

I just ordered both the NAV and the Video/ Audio In.
I was hoping the INCREDIBLY awesome Ipod interface would be available, but alas, even the teaser video is gone from the website.

My understanding was that the AV kit was going to do it all: AV, I Agree killer, IPod interface.
Man, would I love to know how AVC was decoded. |

Dave just made a license plate camera kit available for order for $375. Ouch, but I ordered it anyway. |
